The Surprising Adventures of Munchausen is a hidden object game set in a fantasy kingdom. It has a pretty good story about a character named Munchausen, who sets off to save the princess from the clutches of a villain.
It has two difficulty settings : Casual and Expert. In the casual mode, there are a lot of hints available which will point out what you need to do. Many of the puzzles can be skipped after a certain amount of time. Basically it is designed more for relaxing and enjoying the story. The expert mode however, offers a real challenge. You still get hints once in a while, but they recharge a lot slower, and the same happens to skipping puzzles. Also nothing will be highlighted, so you really need to search for the items all by yourself.
The gameplay is very nicely made. On the right side of the screen you'll see some objects which need to be found in order to advance through the game. They are always part of something, and you never get the idea of just searching for hidden objects for no apparent reason. Also there are a lot of mini-games and puzzles which make the game even more entertaining. Some of them have an educational value. In these games you'll need to match objects together based on a pattern. For example you'll need to match a fishing pole with a worm, or a mouse with cheese, just to name a few.
The Surprising Adventures of Munchausen is ultimately a good game. The artwork is great and most puzzles are quite interesting. If that isn't enough, then the story will keep you playing, just to see what happens next.
